The program is 42 weeks, including a 4-week practicum with on-the-job training, offsite with potential employers. It is a joint initiative between the Police Learning System Advisory Committee and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to establish minimum entrance standards for police services in Ontario.
It is designed to prepare you for your testing and application processes in law enforcement, special constable, customs and immigration, security and private investigations, court security or fraud departments.

The program covers firearms and self-defense training, current laws, investigative techniques, criminal proceedings, conflict resolution techniques, and community policing principles. The overall program goals and objectives are aligned with Sonography Canada’s National Competency Profile Version 6.0.
Sonography is a regulated profession in Ontario under the guidance of the CMRITO – College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (www.cmrito.org).
Upon successful completion of this program students will also be eligible to challenge the American Registry Exam for the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
