The program is 40 Weeks including 490 hours of practicum – 6 hours per day with on-the-job training, which will take place offsite with potential employers.
Our Early Childcare Assistant Diploma program is designed to equip childcare workers with the essential knowledge, skills, and experience to provide positive and professional interactions with parents, guardians, team members, and children.
It includes two practicum sessions: one with infants and one with toddlers. During these sessions you will be able to incorporate classroom theory into a real work situation.
You learn playtime activities for infants and toddlers which will help them develop senses as well as various skills such as health and safety, child development, ethical standards, guidance and nutrition.
We will also teach you the operations of a childcare facility, which will be an important skill as you transition into the workforce.
As an Early Childcare Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with children, parents, child educators, and other childcare providers.
You will be assisting and participating in the day-to-day operations of a childcare center as well as contributing to a nurturing environment in which young children can thrive.
Beyond child interaction, you will assist with record keeping, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and opportunities for growth and support and maintain the daycare equipment and environment.
